Our process follows the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) plan of works.

This framework outlines the key stages of a building project, from initial brief and design through to construction and handover. It helps structure the process clearly and efficiently, ensuring that everyone involved understands their roles and responsibilities at each phase.

Stage 1.

Brief & Survey

Share your ideas. Our projects begin by understanding both our client and the building or site we are working with.
At this stage we arrange a measured survey of the site and work with you to summarise your ambitions and objectives.

Stage 2.

Concept Design

With your objectives clearly defined, we take time to reflect on our discussion and develop creative, engaging, and practical ideas. From these, we shape your final concept—establishing the clear direction for your project.

Stage 3.

Spatial Coordination (Planning Submission)

Building on the agreed concept, we refine ideas into detailed plans prepared for the relevant planning submission. Through ongoing collaboration with you we will guide you through the planning process, helping you manage consultants and planning authorities. During this phase, we consider aesthetics, functionality, materials, and regulations to ensure the design is both inspiring and achievable.

Stage 4.

Technical Design (Building Regulations)

Stage Four focuses on creating detailed technical drawings suitable for submission to building control. We will handle the preparation and submission of your application to Building Control and liaise directly with the Building Inspector on your behalf.

At this point, every detail matters—this crucial phase defines precisely how each element of your design will be built and meet the relevant regulations.

These drawings not only support your Building Control application but also serve as the foundation for briefing and selecting a contractor.

Stage 5.

Construction

We’re committed to supporting our clients from concept to completion, whether that means formally acting as contract administrators or simply offering guidance and assistance along the way. We often support the contractor at this stage, providing additional detailed drawings if required.
